A walk through beautiful Anderson Parkway will lead you past Kvelstad Pavilion and down to Liberty Bay. It is on the grassy area in the park where you will find this memorial donated by the Lindvig family to honor Maurice Lindvig, former Poulsbo Mayor 1969-1976. During his life Maurice was very involved in this community. He served as President, Treasurer and Counselor of the Sons of Norway Lodge, President of the North Kitsap Pee Wee Adult Association and a charter member of the Poulsbo Sea Scouts. He played the drums and was a frequent vocalist with the Poulsbo Play Boys. The highlight of "Morrie's" official career was acting as host for His Majesty, King Olav V of Norway, on his visit to Poulsbo in October of 1975. Morrie treasured the Kings' parting remark, "I like your town. Keep it the way it is." This articulate bronze statue was created by artist Phillip Levine.
